HORATIO WINS 2A SOUTH REGIONAL Horatio Sr. Girls golf team won 2A South Regionals on Wednesday in a playoff with Smackover. Lady Lions' Payton Stafford sank a 3 foot putt on the second playoff hold to seal the victory. Stafford finished 2nd overall with a 101. Horatio's Jessica McGough shot a 102, while Katie Woods shot 120. The Lady Lions will compete in the State Tourney at Melbourne on September 29th.

played in district competition at Ashdown Southern Fairways Sept. 10th. Left to right: Brittany Walker, K'Leeh Thompson, Luke Nicholson, Matthew Lovell and Lacey Cobb. Matthew Lovell placed 1st individually, the girls placed 3rd in district, and Luke Nicholson placed 4th individually. All will compete in Regionals in El Dorado |

HORATIO ADVANCES TO REGIONAL GOLF COMPETITION

 Boys medalist is Blake Toye, who shot a 78 at the 7AA West Golf Tournament High School Conference Match in Ashdown. |
 A newcomer to the HHS golf team, Blake Toye is a senior on the golf team. |
 Girls Medalist Peyton Stafford at Ashdown Golf Conference. Stafford is a 10th grader at Horatio. Medalist is the person who shot the lowest score of the day. |
 Seth Eastridge; Cody Fry; Derek Ernest; Austin Johnston; Blake Toye, and Wesley Jeanes gave the boys a second place victory. |
 Horatio Girls team consisting of Jessica McGough, Peyton Stafford and Katie Woods brought Horatio to a first prize victory for the lady golfers. |

DE QUEEN GIRLS DISTRICT CHAMPIONS 09/10/09

De Queen Girls took 1st place in the 7AAAA District Golf Tournament held September 9th & 10th at De Queen Country Club. Team members Nikki Nealy, Samantha Willey, Kirbi Hinton and Kelsie Emerson were low scorers with a 281. Second team was Waldron with 288 followed by Arkadelphia with 335. |

| Tanner Lipsey competed in his first ever
competitive golf tournament this past Thursday. He finished third with
an 89 at Texarkana Country Club. Tanner will be competing this summer on
the ArkLaTex Junior Golf Tour. His next match will be Thursday (June
18th) at Idabel Country Club.
